ess than twenty years ago, the orcs' former homeworld, Draenor, was ripped apart by the violent energies of several dimensional portals that tore the very fabric of the planet to pieces. This catastrophic event left Draenor a broken, shattered world that the survivors came to call Outland. To this day, some parts of Outland are still unreachable by foot or boat, floating eerily on the horizon as silent reminders of the terrible fate that befell Draenor. Yet the denizens of Outland have adapted and learned to harness some of the indigenous species as flying mounts, allowing adventurers to reach even the most remote and dangerous regions of this wild, untamed world.

Story:
indriders are the knights of the sky, riding their flying mounts into combat. With time and experience, rider and mount move in graceful unison that makes them increasingly formidable opponents. The mount of a windrider is well disciplined and trained for combat. A windrider has a close relationship with her mount similar to the relationship between a spellcaster and his familiar. A windrider can intuitively sense the emotional mood of her mount from a distance. As the bond grows, the windrider and her mount can communicate as effectively as though they shared a common language, though other creatures cannot understand the communication without magical help. In time this bond between the windrider and the mount becomes telepathic - each can see through the other's eyes. As they ride in combat, windriders and their mounts learn to watch for one another's safety in combat.

he "Sha'tari Skyguard" are an air wing of the Sha'tar of Shattrath City, defending the capital from attackers in the hills as well as battling against the arakkoa of Terokk in the peaks of Skettis. The Skyguard has two outposts, one in the northern reaches of the Skethyl Mountains and one near Ogri'la. Players start out at neutral standing with the Skyguard.

wo years after the end of the Second War, the black dragon Deathwing traveled through the Dark Portal to Draenor. Believing the world to be a relatively safe haven for his offspring, he secreted away a number of black dragon eggs before he returned to Azeroth. When Ner'zhul recklessly opened multiple new portals on Draenor, the magical stress tore the planet apart. The energies released in this catastrophe altered Deathwing's eggs, resulting in the nether drakes: ethereal dragons whose bodies are composed of energies from the Twisting Nether. Without Deathwing's guidance, these otherworldly nether drakes are just now finding their own way among the blasted ruins of Outland.
